Im thinking of possible birthday presents im between either a WII or a Samsung 24 or 22 inch monitor.... any thoughts... i just dont want to E-Bay the wii... but cant find it anywhere...
I have a 19" widescreen by Samsung (syncmaster 940BW) and I have no dead pixels, Samsung is one of the top brands its pretty rare if you get a dead pixel.
You really need a new monitor but the Wii is fucking fun as hell and I really don't see it loosing steam for a long time!! It's waaay more popular than the PS3 and almost as popular as the 360. Wii Sports is the SHIT! My buddy just got one at wal-mart. Just ask the electronics guy when they are getting them in. They get like 2 a week or something like that, at least ours does.

i have a Samsung 205BW 20". It's great. Had to return my first one for 3 dead cells. Got a new one and it had just 1 dead, small, unnoticable dead cell. w/e.
the return policies on dead cells is very obscure. they have to be a certain color, certain space apart (clusters), and certain blah blah blah. if i were u, i would buy it in a electronic store and have them hook it up there, to check. it's jsut not worth the money and time to get a lcd with dead cells. lcd monitor companies need to change their policies on that asap.
The Wii is on pace to outsell both the PS3 and the Xbox 360. It is already ahead of the PS3, and since no one in Japan buys a 360 soon the Wii willl pass it, even though the Xbox had MONTHS of a head start. Nintendo pwns, end of story. Wii sports is great, and its one of those games that is even MORE fun while drunk! (I dont know from experience but trust me. Just do a tennis tournament and your house will go nuts haha)

on the wii console war thing:
i'm one of those people who's waiting for the good games on ps3 before investing money into it.... and a ps3 price drop. both of which should happen in about a year. the wii does not look appealing to me at all games wise, but i will concede i have not played a wii yet so that opinion could change.
and the wii selling statistics are kinda skewed b/c the ps2 (that's right, 2) is still selling well.
