I need to warranty a seagate hard drive and my question is.... If I warranty for a replacement will I get a NEW or REFURBISHED hard drive? I looked all over their FAQ and couldn't find anything so if anyone has done this let me know.
I'm quite certain they are new. They also have the cross ship option if you want them to send you a drive before you send them yours if I remember correctly.
Yeah $20 for advanced replacement they send you the HD 2 day mail then include a pre-paid return label so its basically paying $12 for the replacement (witch covers their shipping cost) so it all works out.
WD makes the raptor witch is a great drive but Seagate HD are just as good and has perpendicular recording. But for performance at 10K rpm the WD is the way to go.
