Does anyone know of some cool gaming/school work laptops for not that much money... i have 1000 some odd in credit with alienware and thinking about getting a new monitor or laptop... what u all think..

You won't get a gaming laptop for $1000. Especially not from Alienware.

i know that but im saying it would take some $$$ off of it... my old laptop can run DOD just slow and on the lowest resolution... more ram is like 100 bucks for it DDR333 2700 and u cant get new grafix cards for it so...

I'm inclined to agree with Anson. Laptops aren't really gaming devices. The only models Alienware offers with high end (laptop) graphics are burdened with AMD processors. That's not a bad price on the monitor though and it's a good monitor. Spend your money with them on some peripherals, not a laptop. My $.02.

Delta just picture it now, play dod:s on a 1920 x 1200 resolution, your computer will be able to handle it.

Dell's new XPS laptop uses Dual Core Intels. I might get one next year, even though i throughly hate Dell.
