Ok so I decided to try it this new voip hardware called magic jack and wow not bad! After installing and updating it works really well.
Basically you pay around 40 for the jack witch also covers your first year of the service, yes i said year, after that its only 20 a year.
To good to be true? Check it out and see what you think

I don't mind trying it out it's only 50 dollars after shipping. Also Darth did you say you have to update it . I awesome it's a firmware update?
Or is it drivers or just software? Confused

the jack installs software and you can plug your phone in and switch between softphone from your pc to your regular phone, the updates are more or less optimizing so the jack will work better with your network and mine is working very well all calls are clear with no delay im really impressed

Cool , I should have mine in a few days. If it is a good as vonage I will stick with it. Can you still take that offer they had for 50 dollars for five years? I passed on it until I see if I like or not.

Post 5 year deal Posted: Wed May 14, 2008 3:48 pm

I don't know, I've only had mine for a week or so and did the same passed on it. I would imagine they would have deals like that running continuously for new and existing customers....lets hope anyway!
